Social Inclusion

Social Inclusion trips has seen an increase and variety over the last few years. The feedback we have had from our members is that it involves many more participants as it takes in account all the mental conditions, physical conditions, their ages, financial circumstance and personal commitments.

Social Inclusion has many benefits to those taking part, it has been well researched and can;

• Improved feelings of well-being and self-esteem.
• Access to activities not available in their current social groups.
• Expanded their life experiences by participating in activities in different types of settings.
• Engaging with others and making new friends and social networks.
• Being part of a community group.
• Can change social and personal behaviours.

At the end of 2017 we changed our organised events to include one walk and one social inclusion type activity. VIC is always looking to improve our range of social inclusion activities and organise addition activities that are not included in those planned at the start of each year.

The social inclusion activities are subsidised from our non-restricted funds and some grant funded programmes, we can provide transport to the organised activities we run.

For more information on the social inclusion activities please contact the office on 01706 833180 or call into the VIC Centre where we have them displayed on a notice board. Alternatively you can see them on our Facebook Page.
