Developing Veterans
At the end of April 2020 we received a grant from the Lancashire - COVID-19 Community Support Fund to run an online Photography course
The grant allowed us to still engage with our members to tackle social isolation and learn new skills during the Coronavirus Crisis. Unfortunately we had to lockdown the VIC Centre at the end of March which meant we were unable to continue the groups that would have normally been delivered at the Centre.
The grant allowed us to be able to purchase cameras, tablets, internet access for those didn't already have it and a Zoom license.
The sessions were free to all who take part and although the tutor ran these sessions over 12 weeks, we will continue to use the Zoom platform for the foreseeable future for a number of other groups; art, Bob Ross and crafts.
Each session was recorded for those members who missed some of the sessions. The course was delivered by Emma Holt of Emotive Capture
The course was completed in September 2020. The course was a great success and following on the participants entered some of their best pictures into the Veterans Art Organisation and VIC's art competition.

Outdoor photography day trips May - June 2020
Once the COVID restrictions started to ease, the members of the Developing Veterans group could meet outdoors again and put some of what they learnt during the lockdown to good use. They had a couple of day trips to Townley Park in Burnley with Emma Holt.
